A bit of History

Opened in 1965 as La Seigneurie de Grandpré, the club initially had only 9 holes. Designed by Howard Watson, who designed nearly 70 courses in Quebec, the course had only about 100 members, all shareholders.

In 1976, Mr. Niquet, the owner at the time, inaugurated the second nine holes of the course. Several owners succeeded one another in the following years.

Robert Rousseau, former number 15 of the Montreal Canadiens, was a golf professional at a club in Sorel.

In 1984, he decided to lease the Louiseville club. “It went well,” he said, so that fall, he decided to buy it.

In 1985, he officially became the owner of what would become Links O’Loup, a course that would host numerous championships and tournaments in the years to come. The Rousseau family owned and managed the club until 2025.

The SZL group then acquired it. Pierre Rousseau continues to handle the administrative management and grounds maintenance.
